The "International İstanbul Graphic Desing Week" is an educational activity organised annually since 1997 by Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Fine Arts Faculty, Graphic Design Department. Grafist is organised with the collaboration of GMK/The Turkish Society of Graphic Designers.

The purpose of Grafist is to create a rich arena for the interactive sharing of all works and their results during one week by preparing a well-designed meeting place where internationally-known foreign and Turkish graphic designers, as well as both foreign and Turkish students, can come together through activities such as seminars, workshops and exhibitions and evaluate and discuss their design criteria and visions.
