University of Brighton
The Faculty of Arts and Architecture unites a long-established reputation as a centre of excellence, nationally and internationally, in the disciplines of art, design and humanities with a similar tradition in the subjects of architecture and interior design. All subject areas offer programmes of study from undergraduate through to postgraduate MPhil and PhD.

In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise 35 per cent of our research in art and design was classified as 'world leading'.

The University of Brighton is part of the New Route PhD Consortium of leading UK universities offering an innovative and integrated three to four-year PhD programme for students with a good first degree or equivalent. It is currently the only member of the consortium to be offering the new Route PhD in Art & Design. Courses are delivered through three academic units: the School of Architecture and Design; the School of Arts and Communication; the School of Historical and Critical Studies.
