Reminder: Call for nominations for Iridescent Editorial Board

Icograda is inviting nominations for members of the Editorial Board of Iridescent: the Icograda Journal of Design Research. Open to members of Icograda member organisations or institutions, three Editorial Board Members will be chosen to serve a two-year appointment on a volunteer basis. The Editorial Board will be responsible for the overall management as well as establishing any themes of Iridescent. The deadline for nominations is 30 June 2009.

Reminder: Call for nominations for the Icograda Education Award

Presented to an educator from a member institution in the Icograda Education Network, this award recognises outstanding innovation or achievement in design education. Nominations are welcome from any Icograda Education Network Member faculty or staff and should include a curriculum vita of the individual being nominated. Submissions will be reviewed by the Icograda Executive Board at the 18-19 July meeting in Melbourne, Australia. The deadline for submissions is 7 July 2009.

Icograda endorses China Design Education & Enterprise Development Summit

Beijing (China) - Despite the increasing recognition of the creative industry as a driver for economic growth, and the soaring student enrollment in design programmes around the country, designers within China still face great barriers when entering into the design industry. China Design Education & Enterprise Development Summit, an event recently endorsed by Icograda, hopes to discuss the opportunities and challenges around these issues with people from every aspects of the design industry.

Adobe Design Achievement Awards receives record-breaking number of submissions

San Jose (United States) - With just under a 20% increase in submissions compared to last year, the Adobe Design Achievement Awards 2009 Call for Entries closed on Friday, 5 June with a total of 3245 entries. Students from higher-level institutions all over the world rushed to upload their submissions as the competition came to an end.
