"Oullim" is a pure Korean word meaning "great harmony." It refers to
harmony between nature, mankind, and machine, harmony between north and
south, east and west, and between past, present, and the future.
Program summary
The Icograda Millennium Congress, Oullim 2000 Seoul consisted of a Main
Program featuring some of the most prominent designers, artists and
philosophers from around the world, three Oullim special events, four
special exhibitions and one special project. The entire event was
developed around the theme of Oullim, a Korean word meaning great
harmony. The Congress was organised jointly by Icograda, KIDP
(Korea Institute of Industrial Design Promotion), VIDAK (Visual
Information Design Association of Korea), and KECD (the Korean society
for Experimentation in Contemporary Design), Seoul Metropolitan
Government, Songnam City.
