A biannual event that intends to promote the discussion about design research and education. Currently the biggest design conference in Latin America, this scientific event is an important forum for spreading and discussing prominent questions in this area, either resultant of applied or basic research.

THEMES
P&D Design conferences aim to achieve a broad and updated survey of design research. We therefore defined a set of themes that has the goal of integrating the variety of ranges, objects of study and approaches found in the field.

The list of categories and topics of interest that structure P&D Design 2008 thematic were drawn from a document entitled "Revision of the knowledge areas table from the point of view of design", organized by CNPq (Brazilian Research Council) through consults with design researchers. The categories listed below correspond to the 'sub-areas of design' mentioned in this document, while the 'topics' group the 'specializations of design' found in the document.
