CANNES LIONS 2008
The International Advertising Festival - Cannes Lions - is the largest
gathering of worldwide advertising professionals and advertisers as
well as the most prestigious international annual advertising awards.
Now in its 55th year, it is the most exciting, action packed and must
attend event on the industry’s agenda.
A record 11,000 visitors, from the advertising and allied industries attended in 2007 to celebrate the best of creativity in all major media, discuss industry issues and network with one another. Cannes Lions offers an extensive and unique programme of topical seminars featuring key-note speakers, workshops, exhibitions and screenings.
Over 26,000 entries from 80 countries will compete and be showcased in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes. Ten juries composed of top international creatives, will judge all the entries in Cannes and award the coveted Lion trophy to be best TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor, Interactive, Radio, Sales Promotion, Media, Direct Marketing, Integrated and ground-breaking creative work. In 2008, following pressure from entrants who wanted to submit design work in previous years, it has been decided to add a new section to the Festival to reward the best in design worldwide.
