After going through the global financial crisis, governments, enterprises, the public and professionals in various fields are rethinking how to impose positiveinfluences on cities, economies, societies and people's livelihood though innovation. More problems which must be addressed immediately are proposed at the same time. Against the backdrop of economic bubbles, more and more people have come to realise that creativity is the key and the most significant resource for change and and to usher in a new age.
Icograda World Design Congress 2009 Beijing & the 1st Beijing Design Week attracted the attention from across the whole world. It was undoubtedly a big event for world's creative economy. Designers worldwide gathered in Beijing from 24-30 October.
Taking advantage of the communication platform jointly constructed by governments, enterprises and academic institutions, they motivated experts
and scholars to carry out extensive research and discussion, attracted attention from the public on urban development, economic innovation, improvement of human living conditions and the quality of cultural life.
Throughout the week, delegates:
- jointly participated in discussion, reconstructed value, and formed theories and actions for sustainable design and consumption;
- jointly created and extended the practical value of design innovation;
- jointly advocated “Let design become the source of wisdom that guides the world's innovative economy and social development.
