"4TH BLOCK" VII INTERNATIONAL TRIENNIAL OF ECO-POSTER
Organised by Icograda Professional Member, the Association of Graphic Designers in Ukraine, the main goal of the VII International Triennial of the eco-poster, the "4th Block", is to showcase the most significant achievements of the world's design community related to ecological subjects.

International eco-poster exhibition and accompanying activities will take place in Kharkov from 26 April - 3 May 2009.

Participation is free of charge.
Posters of all genres, with the environmental theme. No more then 5 posters or two separate series per author or per team. No special format or printing technique is required.
Social eco project
Video, Animation, Installations, Commercials, or any other designer projects with an ecological theme.
Eco-culture
Museum, exhibition, theatre, concert, festival or club posters and playbills of any kind, having ecological connotations.

Names of contestants, selected to participate in the triennial will be listed on the 4th Block website.
Exhibition
International eco-poster exhibition and accompanying activities will take place at the Kharkov "Radmir Expo-Hall" Convention Center and Kharkov State Academy of Arts and Design, as well as in various exhibition halls and galleries of Kharkov from 26 April - 3 May 2009.
The opening of the triennial will take place on 26 April 2009 at 16:00 at the "Radmir Expo-Hall".
Awards ceremony
The awards ceremony will take place on 27 April 2009 at 17:00 at the "Radmir Expo-Hall".
Workshops
Members of international jury will have open workshops in the conference room of "Radmir Expo-Hall" on 25 April 2009, between 10:00 and 17:00.
The competition and exhibition of eco-poster, graphics and youth eco-projects has since occurred every three years. Exhibitions touch upon the most painful ecological problems, such as pollution, global warming, genetic engineering, etc.

About the Association of Graphic Designers "4th Block"
The Association of Graphic Designers "4th Block" was established in 2002 by the initiative of the Honorary Artist of Ukraine Oleg Veklenko, as a public institution, uniting Ukrainian graphic designers, who care of social problems of the society, environmental conditions and ecology in our country and are interested in the development of Ukrainian graphic design. In 2004 the Association "4th Block" was admitted as the only Ukrainian member of Icograda.

Eligibility
The competition accepts works from the individual authors, as well as from teams of artists and designers. Works should be dated between 2006 - 2009.Participation is free of charge.

The first "4th Block" poster exhibition took place in 1991, when Oleg Veklenko, a professor at the Kharkiv Institute of Industrial Arts (now the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts) and former army officer, worked with his colleagues to organise an exhibition devoted to the fifth anniversary of the Chernobyl explosion.The competition and exhibition of eco-poster, graphics and youth eco-projects has since occurred every three years.
