2009 EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARDS

The award winners will be informed at least one month before the award ceremony but not officially announced before the award ceremony on 17 May 2009.

Eligibility

All designers living or working within Europe may participate. Designers in Europe may submit work done for clients outside Europe.

There are 30 award categories, divided into seven groups, and two overall prizes.

Awards

There are three levels of distinction:
Gold (first prize), Silver (merit) and Bronze (finalist).

There are 30 award categories, divided into seven groups, and two overall prizes. The first is the Jury's Prize, which is awarded for the most exceptional piece of design in Europe during the previous year. All work awarded is automatically eligible for the Jury's Prize, regardless of whether it is successful in any of the main categories. The Agency of the Year Award is awarded to the agency with the most overall points. Any participating person or studio is eligible for this prize.

Jury

The jury is composed of representatives from prestigious communication design magazines from across Europe. Those are also media partners for the events and together form the European Design Media Network (EDMN).

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is 14 February 2009.

Rules and regulations

All designers living or working within Europe may participate. Designers in Europe may submit work done for clients outside Europe.

The exact requirements for each submission are stated under each category on the website (e.g. size, resolution, document formats). Online submission forms are available via the ED-Awards website. The organisers and the jury have the right to move submissions to a more appropriate category if necessary.

Announcement of winners

The winners will be officially announced during the ED-Awards ceremony 17 May 2009 in Zürich. The winners will be notified no later than 17 April.
