In response to contemporary design phenomena as a well as other global issues, the 2009 Taiwan International Design Competition will be operating under the theme of 'Restore'. Through this theme the competition hopes to explore design as a tool to create new opportunities and restore the world back to its prosperous state.

The Award Ceremony and Exhibition will take place from 2-18 October 2009.

Submission Criteria

The theme of 'Restore' must be incorporated in the design of the pieces submitted for this competition.

Eligibility

General section
Designers as well as teachers and students of design from design related departments or schools.  There are no age restrictions for this section.

Student section
Students born after 1 May 1983 (must be younger than 26 years of age.)

Student section: Product design, visual design and digital animation

Awards

General Section
Gold 1 winner/ NT$500,000 (approx.US$15,000)
Silver 1 winner/ NT$200,000 (approx.US$6,000)
Bronze 1 winner/ NT$100,000 (approx.US$3,000)
Honorable Mention winners/ NT$10,000 (approx.US$300)

Student Section
Gold 1 winner/ NT$400,000 (approx.US$12,000)
Silver 1 winner/ NT$200,000 (approx.US$6,000)
Bronze 1 winner/ NT$100,000 (approx.US$3,000)
Honorable Mention winners/ NT$10,000 (approx.US$300)

All of the above winners will also receive a certificate.

Since its inception in 2002, the Taiwan International Design Competition has become one of the most prestigious and authoritative design competitions in Asia. It is not only a futuristic design competition open to creative talents worldwide, but also aimed at encouraging design interactions and international cultural exchanges.
