FINALFONT - EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY

Designer: Rex Design
Member of: ADG - Brazil

About the design
FinalFont is a funny joke about a common question among graphic designers: which typeface do I choose? Each character of FinalFont presents 36 different and well-known versions of the same character. Besides its pretty bad legibility, typing FinalFont creates unusual graphic patterns. And, with a little effort, these patterns can be read too.

The project was awarded at the 7th Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial and at the 1st Latin America Typography Biennial. It can be requested for free online, where you also can find some other free downloadable fonts by Rex Design.

About the designer
Rex Design is a graphic design company based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It was founded in 1997 by Gustavo Piqueira, Marco Kato and Valter Botosso Junior, who all graduated from University of Sao Paulo in 1994. Working in several areas of graphic design - corporate id, books, packaging, typography - the studio's works can be seen in several magazines and design awards.

In the last two editions of the Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial no other designer or design company had more works selected than Rex (15 works at the 2002 exhibition and 14 works at the 2004). Their third book ' The Golden Book' can be requested for free at their website
