D.VICE1

Designer: Jonathan Gouthier
Member of: AIGA, United States

About the design
Digital Color Concepts (DCC), Gouthier Design, and @Radical Media Photography have joined forces to produce a new custom publication entitled, D.Vice, featuring photography from @Radical Media photographer, Peter Hapak.

D.Vice number 1 focuses on the issue of white in social context. How white as a color is pristine and clean, but can be dirtied through our belief systems and the way society lives. The whole concept deals with how our human attitudes corrupt something so beautiful. It is not a happy-go lucky piece, but more a publication to make one stop and think about their own life and what devices they can use to have an impact on the world around us.

The design resembles a folder with strewn paperwork that just quite does not fit back inside, linking to how the customs and beliefs often don't fit with society and vice-versa. Bound with a clear rubber band allows the viewer to disassemble the publication and hang the paired photographs as wall art.
