This poster was created to promote the Japan Typography Association's Applied Typography 19 call for entries.
About the designer
Toshiyasu Nanbu was born in Osaka, Japan in 1951. He graduated from Osaka High School of Industrial Arts in 1969 and established the graphic design office Taste Inc. in 1988. Nanbu was the Gold Prize winner of "The 7th Tokyo Typedirection in Japan" general section in 1995, Gold Prize winner of "HKDA AWARDS" in 2005 and 2007, and the winner of the "ADI Design Awards 2007".
Nanbu approaches graphic design as the expression of an 'international language', which is now, more than ever, based on typography.
