About the design

Innerstate is a reinterpretation of the U.S. road sign system into a more dyslexic and creative version. First created in 2002 on a self promotional postcard, it became available as a font at typebox and finally just found the perfect online shop for "print on-demand products".

About the designer

Swiss French. Ex student and designer from Basel, Jean-Benoit Levy, multidisciplinary visual designer, lives, teaches and works in San Francisco. During his preparation for the test of his California driver's licence, his foreign origin and accent helped him to see appearing some strange surrealist and poetic messages in the very "wordy" US. road sign system.
