About the design

This is one of the official poster design for the 2011 Daegu IAFF World Championship in Athletics International Poster Exhibition, bringing together participants from different countries. This event is organised by the Mayor of Daegu, Colorful Daegu and Daegu Cultural & Art Center in Korea.

About the designer

Jorge Luis Rodríguez Aguilar is a Graphic Designer born in Havana, with a MFA & BA in Education and Graphic Design from Design Higher Institute (ISDi) and Pedagogy Higher Institute. Aguilar is currently vice-principal and professor in the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture Faculty of CUJAE University in Havana. Member of the Cuban PROGRAFICA Committee, UNESCO International Association of Arts (AIAP) and Cuban Social Communication Association (ACCS). He was artist in residence in Centre National d'Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou (France), Brownstone Foundation (France), Instituto Politéchnico Statale di Torino (Italy) and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Aguilar was granted the 24th National Pedagogic Forum First Award (Cuba-2007), Miec-Pax Romana International Design Award (France-2002), Golden Branch Award (Italy-2000), Caribbean Paper Design Award (Canada-1996 & 1995) and others.
