Metamorphosis

Designer: Kara Patrick

About the design

This book jacket for the classic Kafka story Metamorphosis consists of a series of layers and is intended to create a sense of transformation. Beginning with a slipcase containing a die cut of a man, the layers are peeled back to reveal the last layer (a collage of human anatomy) that alludes to one of the story's main themes: mortality.
