DESIGN> is a free subscription information platform where creativity, innovation, knowledge, technology and business converge. DESIGN>, with its stable of dynamic digital publications, seeks to engage and inspire designers from all disciplines, the design conscious and the design curious throughout Africa and beyond. The DESIGN> Information stable of publications now includes DESIGN> magazine, DESIGN> IN TECHNOLOGY, DESIGN> LIVING, DESIGN> EDUCATION and Special Reports.
DESIGN> magazine is the flagship publication in the stable. The editorial content is rich and diverse and covers a broad scope including the fields of advertising, the built environment, cinematography, communication design, fashion and apparel, industrial design, interior design, intellectual property, jewelry, production design, retail and technology. It also explores contemporary meta-disciplinary convergences within the fields of arts & crafts, design promotion, education, popular culture and business, among others, so that it appeals to a wide cross section of readers.
DESIGN > IN TECHNOLOGY magazine addresses the convergence of the previously divided worlds of design, technology and innovation. It places design thinking at centre stage as the common denominator of these sectors and schools of thought, and attempts to highlight best practices to mainstream active collaboration.
DESIGN> LIVING magazine focuses on the lifestyle aspects of design and interfaces with those who aim to enhance quality of life by creating and living in holistically and eloquently designed environments. DESIGN> LIVING also features special project reviews of exemplary property developments to be found across South Africa and abroad.
DESIGN> Education (or ED> in short) focuses on the youth, particularly high school learners, teachers, tertiary students, lecturers and parents. ED> aims to achieve a better informed and better equipped future generation of designers who have a clear grasp of the challenging roles and responsibilities required by a new age, infused by technology, yet anchored in the solid values of designing a better future that serves all of humanity. ED> also aims to inspire talented young minds to pursue careers in design, empower art and design teachers with relevant teaching resources and solicit greater respect for the discipline amongst career guidance teachers, school headmasters and education administrators.
