Greenside Design Center (GDC) is a Private Higher Education Institution offering Bachelor of Arts Degrees and Bachelor of Arts Honours Degrees in Interior, Graphic and Multimedia Design. It was established by Des Laubscher and Ingrid Templer in 1987 and originally began as an Interior Design College. In 1994 Graphic Design was introduced, and Multimedia Design in 2003. The college accommodates approximately 400 students and employs approximately 20 academic and 15 administrative and support staff. The institution has one campus which is situated in the trendy suburb of Greenside, Johannesburg.

The degree programmes offered are grounded in a strong research base. This is to ensure that the programmes are at the forefront of design education. The programmes strongly encourage commitment to social responsibility through forging partnerships with the design industry, education institutions and the community at large.

GDC ensures that the learning environment is one where creativity, expertise, participation and a desire for continual learning is nurtured and rewarded in order to maximize the potential of staff and students.
