British Design Council
The British Design Council (BDC) enhances prosperity and well-being in the UK by demonstrating and promoting the vital role of design in a modern economy

DESIGN CAMPAIGNS
BDC does this in a practical, hands-on way by running Design Campaigns in key areas of business and the public sector. These campaigns bring designers and managers together with consumers to improve the performance of organisations and deliver enhanced products and services.

Each Design Campaign is delivered over a limited period in partnership with relevant institutions and agencies to ensure that knowledge and ongoing activity are multiplied nationally. Our current campaigns are in the areas of Technology, Learning Environments, Design Skills and Manufacturing.

R&D
Future Design Campaigns are continually in development through a dynamic R&D unit, which uses a design-based approach to challenge accepted thinking on familiar social and economic problems. Current areas of enquiry are citizenship, agriculture and health.

Design Solutions
Ongoing information and support services are provided for a wide range of audiences including business managers, educators and designers. Our Design Solutions include training programmes, online knowledge services, research, case studies and publications.

UK Design Biennial
The Design Council is developing a national programme of Design Biennials to highlight national and international design stories and support regional economic growth through design-led investment. Plans will be announced in spring 2005.
