Hong Kong Design Institute
The Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) was established in 2007 by the Vocational Training Council as a dynamic step towards the development of the city’s creative economy and a positive enhancement of the city’s vibrant creative industry.

Amalgamating the strengths of the design departments administered in separate locations by the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), HKDI unified these unique experiences in design education and professional training into one synergetic education system spanning the spectrum of product design, interior design, visual communication, fashion and image design, printing and digital media, film and television, toy, jewellery and watch design.

The mission of HKDI is to be a leading international provider of contemporary design education commencing from foundation studies towards continual professional development. The Institute encapsulates the principles and actions of lifelong learning with strong emphasis in culture, sustainability and design innovation.
