
Foreningen Svenska Tecknare
The Association of Swedish Illustrators, founded in 1955, organises Sweden's professional illustrators and graphical designers and has 1200 members throughout the country. The union has as its aim to further the professional interests of its members within a legal, financial, and idealistic framework.
The Association of Swedish Illustrators provides professional advice to its members on professional matters and also holds seminars on various topics such as rates, tariffs and copyright, and also arranges conferences in co-operation with other organisations. FST offices are situated in Stockholm.
Sections
In order to cater to the specific interests of different categories of illustrators, the organisation is divided into sections (Children's book, non-fiction and education, magazines and cartoons, graphic design and advertising). Each section has a committee and a secretary. The committee arranges meetings and other events, and acts as a network for those who are actively engaged in the profession.
TECKNAREN (The Illustrator)
This publication covers news and articles concerning artists, illustrators and graphic designers. It aims at providing information, initiating debates and increasing the knowledge of those wide areas of expertise in which the members are professionally active. The journal also contains entertainment, union bulletins, updates concerning grants, awards, competitions and more.
TECKNAREN is a member´s journal that reaches readers in the design field and beyond. (In swedish only.)
