Singapore - President S R Nathan presented Singapore's top design accolade to three outstanding designers and seven iconic designs at the President's Design Award ceremony held on 1 December 2008 at the LASALLE College of the Arts.

San Jose (United States) - Adobe today announced the call for entries for the ninth annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA). Now in partnership with the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), the awards ceremony will be held during the Icograda World Design Congress in Beijing, China in October 2009.

Nagoya (Japan) - From 1-6 December 2008, the New Designers Workshop 2008: Roots Finder - DESIGN DNA will be the first UNESCO's Creative Cities Network event in Nagoya since its designation as a City of Design.

New York (United States) - Members of DESIGN 21 are invited to help promote linguistic diversity and multiculturalism by creating a poster for International Mother Language Day, 21 February. All entries will appear on the DESIGN 21 website and an official poster will be selected from the submissions.

Treviso (Italy) - Fabrica, the Benetton communication research center, continues its international workshop and lecture program. Bruce Sterling, writer and futurologist, will be at the institute from 25-28 November 2008 to lead an intensive trans-disciplinary workshop and public lecture.

Amsterdam (The Netherlands) - From 16-22 November 2008, the Dutch Association of Designers (BNO) is hosting a visit by fifteen Indian design agencies and opinion leaders to the Netherlands.
