Brussels (Belgium) - The European Commission has opened online public consultation on the working document "Design as a driver of user-centred innovation." Open until 26 June, the results may lead to future joint European action including non-binding cooperation, sharing good practice, and establishing benchmarks.

Singapore - >60 Design Centre, Singapore's National Design Centre for Ageing, has designed a made-in-Singapore card game to help people suffering from dementia.

San Jose (United States) - With just over a month left to submit entries for the 2009 Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA), the total number of submissions already exceeds 300 entries from students from all four corners of the globe.

Toronto (Canada) - The Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) is introducing a new Masters in Design (MDes) in Strategic Foresight and Innovation. Scheduled to be launched in September 2009, the programme will initially be offered as a part-time two-year programme in order to provide flexible options for working professionals.

Montreal (Canada) - Icograda Member organisations are invited to nominate persons who are members or officers to stand for election to the Executive Board for the 2009-2011 term. Elections will take place at the Icograda General Assembly 23 from 24-25 October 2009 in Beijing, China.

Eindhoven (The Netherlands) - The seventh edition of the Dutch Design Awards has officially begun. Scouts are now searching the design field for the very best work available and the online registration for this free competition is now open.

Milan (Italy) - Wolda, the worldwide logo design annual, has finalised the selection of the first tier of jurors for the 2009 award scheme. This jury is composed of 10 internationally renowned designers recommended by Icograda.

Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) - Icograda is pleased to endorse the 2009 Taiwan International Design Competition (TIDC). In response to contemporary design phenomena as well as other global issues this competition will be operating under the theme of "Restore".

Los Angeles (United States) - The 4th United Designs International Biannual Design Exhibition, a celebration of international awareness between education and profession in graphic design, has announced its call for entries. An estimated 300 designs from 25 countries will be on display at the Exhibition from 29 June - 20 July 2009.
