São Paulo (Brazil) - This weekend, Zupi will host the fifth edition of Pixel Show design conference, an Icograda endorsed event. From 10-11 October, join delegates in two inspiring days of conferences, lectures, exhibitions and parallel activities with the theme "Creative DNA".

Nicosia (Cyprus) - On 17-19 June 2010, the 4th International Conference on Typography and Visual Communication (ICTVC) will take place at the University of Nicosia. From now until 10 January 2010, participants are invited to contribute proposals for a presentation or panel discussion.

Beijing (China) - Mr. Long Yongtu, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia has been announced as a keynote speaker for Xin: Icograda World Design Congress 2009 in Beijing. His speech will be part of the Opening Ceremony protocols on the 26 October.

New York (United States) - On 17 September 2009 at New York's Waldorf-Astoria hotel, designers from around the world attended the sixth annual AIGA Design Legends Gala to recognise design excellence and give back to the profession.

Naples (Italy) - From 6-11 October 2009, Aiap will host the first edition of "Design Per. Settimana Internazionale della Grafica" (Design For. International Week of Graphic Design), an Icograda endorsed event.

Montreal (Canada) - China's Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), host organiser of Xin: Icograda World Design Congress 2009, has been recognised by BusinessWeek in its annual ranking of the world's best design schools.

Brussels (Belgium) - As part of the EU Commission’s European Year of Creativity and Innovation, BEDA has elected to celebrate 1 October as European Design Day. The main thinking behind this is to highlight the importance of design as an important innovation tool for European industry.

Geneva (Switzerland) - Member states moved on 24 September 2009 to simplify the international design registration system by suspending the earliest of the three Acts that govern the Hague Agreement concerning the International Deposit of Industrial Designs. This decision will streamline the administration of the Treaty which offers the possibility to protect designs in several countries by filing one single application.

Montreal (Canada) - Icograda has announced the candidates for election to the 2009-2011 Executive Board who will be selected at the General Assembly 23 taking place in Beijing (China) from 24-25 October 2009. More than 120 delegates from over 30 countries have already registered to attend the meeting. This is the first time in the organisation's almost 50 year history that the Assembly has been held in China.
