Washington, DC (United States) - Looking to "ratchet up the dialogue" around sustainability and environmental graphic design, SEGD has launched a new web-based resource focused on life-cycle approaches to EGD.

Montreal (Canada) – The professional orders and associations of design in Quebec, along with the Quebec Department of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and the Quebec Department of Municipal Affairs, Regions and Land Occupancy, have jointly announced the official launch of Mission Design, the first organisation to highlight the design professions and be a true voice for this industry in Quebec.

Hong Kong (Hong Kong SAR) – The Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) will run a six-month multi-faceted programme entitled “Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies – Business, Living, Creativity” to promote the energy, style, innovation and branding power of Hong Kong designers to the mainland China and global audiences during Expo 2010 Shanghai.

Beijing (China) - On 27 April, Mr. Chen Dongliang, Director of the Beijing Industrial Design Center (BIDC), was granted the the 2010 National Advanced Workers Medal for his outstanding contribution in the field of China’s design. This is the highest award to a citizen granted by the government, recognising those who have made a great contribution to China.
