London (United Kingdom) - Designers from around the world are invited to take part in D&AD Awards 2011. From now until 31 January, participants can enter their original and inspiring work in 25 different categories.

New York (United States) - Renowned authors Steven Heller and Mirko Ilić are seeking contributions for an upcoming book titled Go, Stop, Slow, Eat: How Typography Influences Behavior (Rockport Publishers).

London (United Kingdom) - The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) has announced the Student Design Awards briefs for the 2010/2011 award scheme. Undergraduate and postgraduate students have until 17 February 2011 to take part.

Doha (Qatar) - This year, Tasmeem, an international design conference organised by VCUQatar, invites design students with an entrepreneurial project that links ideas, people, designers and industry to take part in the Entrepreneurship Challenge.

Toronto (Ontario) - With the support of the Government of Ontario, Canada, the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario released its handbook on accessible graphic design at this year's DesignThinkers, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Seoul (Korea) - The Seoul Design Foundation (SDF) and the Seoul Design Center (SDC) will play host to a group of international design researchers and policymakers at the 7 December forum being organised under the collaboration agreement between Icograda and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Ljubljana (Slovenia) - To commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of Penguin Books, Emzin Institute and Penguin Group have collaborated to present an exhibition of 75 book covers that represent the best of what Penguin has produced over the course of the last decade.

San Francisco (United States) - Re-nourish, together with partner organisations including the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, has launched the Sustainable Design Auditing Project, a public process to develop open-source metrics for measuring the environmental, social and economic impacts of the graphic design supply chain.

Madrid (Spain) - 'Design for development' and 'Design for all' are concepts that underlie the works of the second edition of the Ibero American Design Biennial. With more than 400 designers included, the biennial has experienced a considerable increase from the last event.

Montreal (Canada) - Icograda is pleased to welcome four new members to the network, approved at the Icograda Executive Board Meeting on 17 October, during Optimism: Icograda Design Week in Brisbane 2010.
