Singapore - Dr Milton Tan passed away on 8 November 2010. As MICA Fellow for Design and the founding Director of the DesignSingapore Council, he left an indelible mark on Singapore's design history.

London (United Kingdom) - The man who changed the way many of us live and work by designing the world's first laptop computer - Bill Moggridge RDI - has been named the winner of the 2010 Prince Philip Designers Prize by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at a ceremony at the Design Council in London.

Montreal (Canada) – The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) has opened the call for applications for the World Design Capital® (WDC) 2014 designation – a biennial international appointment in recognition of a city's achievements and focus on design as a driving force for economic, social and cultural development.

Jinan (China) - The Icograda Design Education Manifesto 10-year anniversary celebrations opened today in Jinan, China. The events are being hosted by Icograda Education member Shandong University of Art and Design, under the theme "Future of Design Education."

Washington, DC (United States) - An international, multidisciplinary jury has been assembled for the 2011 SEGD Design Awards Program. The 2011 competition marks 24 years of recognising excellence in environmental graphic design. This year will also mark the second year that entries are accepted online in an efficient and effective way to participate.
