Moncton (Canada) - On 27 April 2012 the National Council of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC), at its Annual General Meeting at the Delta Beausejour Hotel in Moncton, elected its new National Executive Board Members for 2012-2014.

New York (United States) - High Line co-founder Robert Hammond, Pentagram Partner Michael Bierut, Culturematic author Grant McCracken, and Project Runway winner Anya Ayoung Chee will be among the featured presenters at the 2012 SEGD Conference: The Bridge, convening in Brooklyn and Manhattan June 7-9.

San Jose (United States) - Students and faculty made over 1200 submissions by the close of Session II of the 2012 Adobe Design Achievement Awards. The Pre-Selection panel is now working around the clock and across continents, to select Session II Semi-Finalists.

Nanjing (China) - The Hiiibrand Awards 2011 have announced the 238 winners of awards and mentions - 159 Professional and 79 Student. The competition solicited design works in brands, logos and packaging from world-wide enterprises, design institutes, design studios, freelancers and students studying Design. It aims to improve design in branding and logo development, while awarding people who apply themselves to design and produce excellent works around the world.

Ljubljana (Slovenia) - Icograda IDMN member Emzin will present a seminar 15-16 May 2012 in the City Museum of Ljubljana, Gosposka 15, Ljubljana, from 9:30-17:00. Lectures will be held in English and will have no simultaneous translation. The fee for the seminar is 200 EUR (VAT excluded), and 50 EUR (VAT excluded) for students.

Over the last 21 years, the local action has evolved into a prestigious Icograda-endorsed international event.
