Taipei (Taiwan - Chinese Taipei) - Taiwan Design Center has announced the call for entries to the Icograda-endorsed 2012 Taiwan International Design Competition (TIDC). First held in 2002, TIDC has grown to become a high-profile design competition of note in Asia. This forward-looking design competition, open to creative talents worldwide, aims to encourage design interactions and international cultural exchanges.

Montréal (Canada) - The Icograda Executive Board has approved the applications of two new members: the Lebanese Graphic Design Syndicate (LGDS) as a Professional Member and Asociación Colombiana Red Académica de Diseño (RAD) as an Education Member. Their membership strengthens Icograda's network by bringing voice from under-represented regions - Latin America and Western Asia.

Geneva (Switzerland) - An exhibition showing the intellectual property (IP) behind Steve Jobs' innovations opened to the public at WIPO on 30 March 2012 and will run through to World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April 2012. The exhibition ties in with this year's World Intellectual Property Day theme - Visionary Innovators.

Seoul (Korea) - The Korean Minister of Knowledge Economy has appointed Dr. Taeyong Lee, former President & CEO of KEMCO (Korea Energy Management Corporation) and former Deputy Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, as the new President of KIDP (Korea Institute of Design Promotion). Dr. Lee took office as President on 27 March 2012.

Zagreb (Croatia) - The international triennial exhibition of graphic design and visual communications - Zgraf - opened on Thursday 15 March 2012. The Zgraf programme is made up of two main parts: an exhibition reviewing works completed in the past three years (since the last Zgraf exhibition); and, a thematic exhibition presenting works designed for this year's theme 'This used to be the future.'

Ljubljana (Slovenia) – Designers, commissioners, producers, students and design organisations, from anywhere in the world, have until 30 March to submit products, concepts and projects, from any area of design, that have been created in the past two years, to 23rd Biennial of Design.

San Jose (United States) - The 2012 Adobe® Design Achievement Awards has announced this year's judges. Adobe and Icograda selected a panel of outstanding individuals from their international networks to review this year's submissions.

Taipei (Taiwan - Chinese Taipei) - Taiwan Design Center is offering one free exhibition booth (2mx3m) per international education institution to participate in the Young Designers' Exhibition (YODEX). Every May, YODEX offers top design courses from across Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) and abroad the opportunity to meet with industry employers, buyers, the media, trend predictors, students and a design-hungry public.

London (United Kingdom) - Acclaimed architect David Adjaye and iconic British industrial designer Kenneth Grange will headline SEGD’s 2012 International Symposium April 27 in London. The 2012 SEGD International Symposium: Design, Innovation, Collaboration is being held in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum.
