Icograda General Assembly 24 elects historic board and adopts new name

Montreal (Canada) - Delegates to the Icograda General Assembly 24 elected an historic Executive Board to lead the Council in its 50 anniversary term. Representing more than 200 organisations in 67 countries globally, the 10 person board will be led by Leimei Julia Chiu (Japan), who becomes Icograda's first female President.

2011 Icograda Awards honourees announced at IDA Congress

Taipei (Taiwan – Chinese Taipei) – Icograda announced the recipients of its highest honours – the President's Award, the Education Award and the 2011 Icograda Achievement Awards. Russell Kennedy honoured Mervyn Kurlansky (Denmark) with the President's award. Apex Pang Soong Lin (Taiwan – Chinese Taipei) accepted the Icograda Education award. Achievement Awards were presented to Lin Horng-Jer, Stony Cherng, Tzung-Kuei Yang, Han-Pin Chen, Taddy Ho and Tony Chang. The announcements were made on 24 October, the opening day of the inaugural IDA Congress.

Iridescent, Volume 1 released at Icograda General Assembly 24

Taipei (Taiwan - Chinese Taipei) - The inaugural printed volume of Iridescent: Icograda Journal of Design Research was launched on 27 October 2011 at the Icograda General Assembly 24 in Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei). "Through the global reputation and network of Icograda, Iridescent has become a distinct contributor to the international design research journal community." said Omar Vulpinari, Iridescent Editorial Director.

Icograda Design Education Manifesto 2011 launch

Taipei (Taiwan - Chinese Taipei) - The Icograda Design Education Manifesto 2011 was launched on 27 October 2011 at the Icograda General Assembly 24 in Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei). "The Design Education Manifesto 2011 is the fruit of a 2-year-long process engaging some of the most prominent design education experts from around the world. The final output addresses the needs and desires of the future of design education in a world both converging and expanding" said Omar Vulpinari, Icograda President Elect and Co-chair of the Manifesto update.

Adobe reveals winners of 2011 Design Achievement Awards

Taipei (Taiwan - Chinese Taipei) - Adobe, in collaboration with Icograda, announced the winners of the 11 annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) at an awards ceremony held on 23 October in Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei). The awards honour the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, developers and computer artists from higher education institutions worldwide who have created individual or group projects with Adobe software.
