BNO publishes Mapping Dutch Conceptual Crafts
April 2009 sees the publication by the Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO) of a new book entitled Vrije vormgeving. Mapping Dutch Conceptual Crafts / Nederlandse vrije vormgeving in kaart brengen. Through both images and text the book charts themes and visions of current and possible future developments in conceptual crafts in the Netherlands. The book is both a valuable document for the specialty itself and an interesting introduction for a broad audience.

Announcing the 4th Information Design International Conference
SBDI, the Brazilian Society of Information Design, announces the 4th CIDI | International Conference for Information Design, and the 3rd InfoDesign Brazil | Brazilian Conference for Information Design. These biannual scientific events aim at gathering professionals, researchers and students to discuss information design issues. Also taking place is the 4th Congic | Information Design Student Conference, a scientific event addressed to students and recent graduates who have developed research in this field.

Emzin seminar on graphic design
From 19-20 May 2009, the emzin institute of creative production will host the Days of graphic design with Ben Bos (Amsterdam), Bob van Dijk (The Hague/Amsterdam) and Ralph Schraivogel (Zürich). Held at Central Hotel, Miklošičeva 9, Ljubljana, between 9:15 - 16:30. Lectures will be held in English and will have no simultaneous translation. The fee for the seminar is 320 EUR, and 110 EUR for students (VAT excluded). Register between 9:00 - 14:00 at Emzin, Metelkova 6, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Spain's golden age of graphic design featured in new book from Mark Batty Publisher
The recent publication from Mark Batty Publisher, "Pioneers of Spanish Graphic Design", presents the best work from 15 of the nation's top designers under the guidance of noted commercial artist Emilio Gil. The book is a comprehensive visual showcase of the most intriguing work from Spain's best-known designers who worked between 1939 and 1975, a period of time often described as Spain's golden age of graphic design.
