
Established in 2004, ICD represents Israel in the international design organisations Icograda, Icsid and IDA. The mission of the ICD is to promote understanding of the design process, design excellence and the potential of design to improve the quality of life of all people.
ICD activities:
The Israel Community of Designers successfully concluded its second annual series of Designed In Israel events that took place at the Israel Trade Fairs and Convention Center between Feb. 5-17 and included:
- Designed In Israel '08 - exhibition of 240 examples of current Israeli graphic, industrial and jewelry design.
- Designers of the Future '08 - exhibition of 56 final projects in graphic, industrial and jewelry design by graduates of all Israeli design schools.
- Presentation of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor 2007 Prizes in Industrial Design
- The second annual Economic Power of Design conference, organised in collaboration with TheMarker Magazine and Haaretz Conferences, featuring international and local speakers which drew an 1000 participants.
Catalogs for the exhibitions, in Hebrew and English, were issued and are available to organisations, libraries and the media, through the ICD.
The exhibition website features a virtual tour of the exhibition and provides information on the exhibits and designers. (The website is currently available in Hebrew only and will be available in English in the future.)
The events were organised in collaboration with TheMarker Magazine, Bank Hapoalim, The Israel National Lottery, The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Labor, The Israel Export Institute and many other public and private entities.
